MPO-LC Breakout Cable, MPO Splitter Cable are designed for high density applications with require high performance and speedy installation, also called MPO Breakout Cable or MPO Fanout Cable, MPO LC cable, MPO-LC Harness Cables. Our MPO fiber, MPO fiber cable, and MPO fiber optic cable are widely used in data center applications, supporting different MPO cable types. The MPO breakout cables work from trunk backbone assemblies to fiber rack system in the high density backbone cabling. As mpo-12 breakout cable, mpo 12 breakout cable, mpo 12 fiber cable, or mpo to 4xlc fiber breakout cable and mpo 24 fiber cable terminated with MPO/MTP connectors on one end and standard LC/FC/SC/ST/MTRJ connectors (generally generally MTP to LC or MTP to 4xLC) on the other end, these cable assemblies can meet a variety of fiber cabling requirements.

Introduction

Fibermart MPO Breakout Cable is a high-density, factory-terminated solution engineered to bridge high-capacity MPO backbone systems with individual equipment ports. Also known as an MPO Fanout or Harness Cable, it features a single MTP/MPO connector on one end that branches out to multiple standard LC, SC, or ST connectors on the other. Designed for rapid deployment in data centers, this cable eliminates the need for field splicing, converting a single high-fiber-count trunk connection into multiple manageable duplex channels. It is the definitive interface cable for scalable, high-performance networks, enabling efficient connectivity from 40G/100G/400G spine switches down to 10G/25G server and storage links.

Features

● Terminates with MPO- connector (12 or 24 fiber) on one end and breaks out to 6, 8, 12, or 24 simplex or duplex LC/SC/ST, custom fiber counts from 8F to 144F.

● Factory pre-terminated and 100% tested with CE, RoHS, FCC, ISO9001. Super Low Inertion Loss 0.35dB/0.2dB on MPO/LC port with individual Test Report.

● Directly supports 40G/100G QSFP+/QSFP28 to 10G SFP+, forming the essential link between parallel optic transceivers and standard duplex equipment.

● Available in various configurations (e.g., MPO to LC, MPO to SC) with customizable polarity (Type A/B/C) to ensure correct channel alignment in structured cabling.

● Utilizes high-quality LSZH or OFNP jacketed fiber with a defined minimum bend radius for reliable performance in congested cable managers.

● Can be customized to exact length requirements and specific breakout patterns (e.g., MPO-12 to 6x Duplex LC, MPO-24 to 12xLC) to fit any rack layout.

Principles

An MPO Breakout Cable operates on the principle of fanout or de-multiplexing parallel optical channels into separate, duplex paths. The MPO connector on the trunk side interfaces with a parallel optical transceiver or patch panel, which transmits and receives data across multiple fibers simultaneously (e.g., 8 fibers for 40G, 20 fibers for 100G SR4). Inside the breakout cable, each individual fiber from the MPO connector's multi-fiber ferrule is routed to its own dedicated simplex or duplex connector (like LC). This physically separates the aggregated "bundle" of light signals from the parallel optic link into independent, standard duplex channels. The cable acts as a passive, point-to-point adapter, allowing a single high-bandwidth MPO port to serve multiple lower-bandwidth device ports without active signal conversion, thereby maximizing port utilization and simplifying cable management.

Applications

● Data Center Top-of-Rack (ToR) Deployment: Connecting a 40G/100G QSFP switch port in a ToR configuration to multiple 10G/25G SFP+ ports on servers.

● High-Density Main Distribution Areas: Interfacing high-capacity MPO backbone trunks from core switches to LC-based patch panels in the main distribution frame.

● Storage Area Network (SAN) Connectivity: Linking high-speed director switches to disk arrays and storage controllers in consolidated data center environments.

● Telecom Central Office Aggregation: Facilitating connections between high-density transmission equipment and customer-facing interface panels.

● Modular System Integration: Used in pre-configured cabling harnesses for OEM equipment, blade servers, and modular networking platforms.
